Abdullah, Khalilzad Discuss Ongoing Peace Efforts

KABUL - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah has said there was no top priority than the establishment of peace and stability in country and to end the forty-year-old war, according to a statement from the CEO office on Sunday.
CEO Abdullah expressed the view during a meeting with US Special Envoy for Afghan Peace Process Zalmay Khalilzad at his residence.
Abdullah hailed the efforts of Khalilzad and US government for reconciliation efforts in the war-ravaged country and added the establishment of peace and reconciliation was the main desire of the people of Afghanistan.
He stressed on the Afghan owned, dignified and sustainable peace and reconciliation.
The US peace envoy would meet Pakistan official this week to discuss efforts for Afghan peace and reconciliation. (Pajhwok)
