Kabul, Ankara Confer on Security Cooperation

KABUL - President Ashraf Ghani and Turkish Defence Minister HulusiAkar have discussed the fight against terrorism and bilateral security cooperation.
Ghani and Akar also met on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany, a statement from the Presidential Palace in Kabul said.
The Turkish minister promised his country would continue cooperating with the Afghan government, especially on training the Afghan National Police personnel.
Ghani thanked Turkey for its support to Afghanistan over the years and said regional cooperation was the antidote to the growing threat of terrorism.
Ghani also met Anwar Gargash, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) minister of state for foreign affairs. Gargash conveyed him the wishes of UAE leadership and said his government was supportive of the Afghan-led peace process.
Ghani also conveyed his good wishes to the leadership of the UAE and hailed the positive role it was playing in the Afghan peace drive. (Pajhwok)
