37 Taliban Insurgents Eliminated in Ghazni Raids, Says Official

GHAZNI - Mohammad Arif Noori, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the security forces conducted air-and-ground operations in Miri, Mudad, Alizai and Kamalkhel areas on Friday night.
Thirty-one militants were killed and five others wounded, he said, adding that militant commanders Qari Abdullah and Qari Zahid among five other rebels arrested.
Shah Mohammad, a resident of Miri area, confirmed that a fierce firefight took place in their neighbourhood. He said both sides suffered casualties. However, the resident gave no further details
Separately, six insurgents were killed, three others wounded and several weapons and ammunition seized by the security forces during an ambush in the Kariz area of Ghazni City.
There has been no word so far from the Taliban in this regard. But the group’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on his Twitter account two civilians were wounded and six others arrested during a raid by Afghan and American forces in Gilan district. (Pajhwok)
