KABUL - Minister of Rural Development and Rehabilitation Mujiburrahman Karimi on Tuesday said 498 development project worth $51 million has been implemented nation-wide while 4,092 more development projects worth $225 million were being implemented.
Briefing the Mesharano Jirga regarding the development projects the minister said since the start of the current fiscal year the ministry was able to spent 65 percent of development budget and until the end of ongoing year percentage would jump up to 90 percent.
The projects in the field of transportation, provision of drinking water, irrigation and others had been implemented so far.
The minister said 6,000 schools would be constructed in coming two years from locally produced materials.
The construction of 3,000 schools had been launched in 17 provinces and work on remaining schools would be launched next year. (Pajhwok)
