Commandos Free 61 Prisoners from Taliban Jail in Helmand

KABUL - The operation was carried out by Battalion 7 of Afghan Special Force Unit in Kajaki district in Helmand, an army commander said. 
At least 61 prisoners were freed by Afghan commandos during a clearing operation on an illegal Taliban prison in Helmand province, Commander of Battalion 7 of Afghan Commandos MunibAmiri said on Friday.
The operation was conducted late on Thursday night in Kajaki district in Helmand, Amiri said.
He said two Taliban militants were killed and seven suspects were arrested during the operation.
The prisoners were transferred to Army Corp Headquarters in Helmand, Amiri said.
There is no report on a possible casualties among government forces in this operation.
This come after Afghan forces freed 58 prisoners during a clearing operation on an illegal Taliban prison last month in Musa Qala district in Helmand.
Among the prisoners were four ANA soldiers, 15 policemen, and two doctors.
Taliban has not commented on the operation so far. (Tolo news)
