Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Arrives in Kabul for APAPPS Inaugural Session

KABUL - The Foreign Secretary of Pakistan TehminaJanjua on Sunday arrived in Kabul leading a delegation of Pakistani officials for the talks regarding the Afghanistan Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS).
A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Dr. Mohammad Faisal has said Ms. Janjua is leading a delegation of 28 Pakistani officials during the visit to Kabul.
Dr. Faisal further added that the officials will participate in the inaugural session of Afghanistan Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS).
He has also added that the delegation’s presence in Kabul two days before the general elections in Pakistan “shows our commitment to APAPPS”.
Ahead of her visit to Kabul, Ms. Janjua had reportedly told reporters that the APAPPS has resulted into a constructive dialogue between the two nations.
“For example, with US support, Pakistan and Afghanistan entered into a constructive dialogue to develop,” she was quoted as saying in local media reports.
This comes as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General QamarJavedBajwa had earlier said that the APAPPS would bring increased cooperation and coordination between the two countries. (KP)
