JALALALBAD - Eleven people were killed and 10 others wounded after two armed men stormed an education department’s office in the capital of eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday, an official said.
Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the gunmen attacked the education department branch at around 9:30am.
He said the assault lasted for four hours and ended with the killing of the two attackers. He added 11 employees of the office had been killed and 10 others wounded in the attack.
The office director Sayed Sulaiman was among the dead, Khogyani informed.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. (Pajhwok)
