US to Press Pakistan for War on Terror: Grossman

US to Press Pakistan for War on Terror: Grossman

KABUL - The US Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, Mark Grossman, said on Saturday that his government would continue its pressure on Pakistan to fight the terrorism.
President Karzai has taken a tough stance against Pakistan after Ex- president and High Peace Council Chairman Burhanuddin Rabbani was assassinated.
Afghan officials alleged that attack on high peace negotiator Rabbani was planned in Pakistan.

Speaking with President Hamid Karzai in a meeting at the Presidential Palace, a statement quoted Grossman as saying: "We better realize your concerns about the recent shocking incidents happened in Afghanistan as well as your stance on bringing peace and stability to the country."

At the meeting, Karzai said efforts for brining peace and stability should have positive outcome, adding "The Afghans have lost their tolerance toward such attacks and assassinations."

Relations between the US and Pakistan has been worsening since the militant attack on the US embassy and NATO headquarters in Kabul. Washington has increased pressure on Pakistan to move against the Haqqani network based in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal region.
