President Directs Governors  to Prioritise Peace, Security

KABUL - President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has urged the governors to include the improvement of security and establishment of peace in their priorities of work, a statement from Presidential Palace said on Friday.
Ghani expressed the view during a meeting with governors from Helmand, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Farah, Herat, Laghman, Nuristan, Kunar, Paktika, Nimroz, Badghis, Ghor, Daikundi and Nangarhar provinces.
The heads of provinces briefed the president on overall situation and administrative units within the districts.
They informed the president over existing challenges, security situation, infrastructure projects and offered new uplift plans and programs to the president.
The president said governors should held contacts with different groups of society, including ulema, to improve the overall situation and bring positive change.
He directed them to pay more attention to development and uplift projects.
Earlier, the President held meeting with governors of Baghlan, Takha, Samangan, Badakhshan, Sar-i-Pul and Balkh provinces. (Pajhwok)
