Inform People about  Kabul Attack Facts,  Orders Ghani

KABUL - President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday ordered the authorities concerned to inform the people about details and facts how the deadly double bombings in capital Kabul unfolded.
At least 25 people, including nine journalists and photographers, were killed and another 49 people wounded including six media workers in the twin blasts in the ninth police district of Kabul on Monday morning.
Daesh or Islamic State (IS) group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which drew strong condemnation from top US, NATO and Afghan officials.
Security officials on Tuesday presented their report about the deadly attack to a National Security Council (NSC) meeting at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.
After hearing the reports, President Ashraf Ghani ordered officials concerned to investigate the Monday carnage and find out security gaps. He also ordered officials to share details and facts of the incident with the media and people.
“Freedom of speech and media activities have special importance for the government and Monday’s terrorist attack was an assault on media and a crime against humanity”, Ghani said. He vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
A statement from the NSC to Pajhwok Afghan News said the meeting discussed ensuring security in Kabul, particularly in the city’s western part and the officials concerned were ordered to take special measures. (Pajhwok)
