KABUL -  An Islamic studies student hanged himself in northern Samangan on Monday, raising the number of suicide deaths to four during the last one and half a month in the province, officials said.
Provincial police spokesman, Munir Rahimi, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a young man named Khalid, resident of Aibak district of the province hanged himself to death in the bathroom of the Islamic education center.
Police are investigating to find out if the man committed suicide or someone else involved in the incident.
According to Rahimi, three self-hanging cases have been recorded in Samangan since the beginning of current solar year.
A 14 year old girl, a boy and another girl were among the victims, he said.  (Pajhwok)
