NATO FMs to Discuss Afghan Reconciliation, Reforms

KABUL - Afghanistan will feature in the agenda of the NATO foreign ministers meeting in Brussels on the 27th of April  (Friday), an alliance official said on Wednesday.
“We have renewed our commitment, including with significant troop increases to our NATO-led Resolute Support Mission,” the official told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The ministers will focus on the prospects for peace talks and reconciliation, as well as on Afghanistan’s reforms and the regional context, he added.
“NATO remains committed to helping local forces become even more self-sufficient in suppressing international terrorism,” the official continued.
The meeting of foreign ministers will be held in allied format -- amongst all of the 29 NATO members. The session on Afghanistan will also be attended by the NATO Senior Civilian Representative in Afghanistan Ambassador Cornelius Zimmermann.
NATO-led Resolute Support Mission Commander General John W. Nicholson will also be in attendance. (Pajhwok)
