KHOST CITYY - President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, accompanied by a number of ministers, arrived in southeastern Khost province on Monday morning.
Ghani inaugurated a newly-built runway and laid the foundation stone of buildings for fire tinder and radar in Ismailkhel and Mandozai districts of the province. The president also inaugurated work on roads.
After the inauguration of the projects, Ghani flew in a helicopter and opened a power substation in the same district. With the completion of the project, 13,000 families will enjoy a reliable power facility.
Meanwhile, the governor’s spokesman, Talib Mangal, told Pajhwok Afghan News the projects accounted for one billion and seven million afghanis.
He added one billion and 18 million afghanis had been allocated for the schemes.Ghani would meet tribal elders, provincial council members, civil society activists and youth.
During his trip, the president will also address a gathering in the afternoon in Khost City, the provincial capital, the gubernatorial spokesman concluded.(Pajhwok)
