Regional, Global Consensus on Peace Soon: HPC

MAZAR-I-SHARIF - Afghanistan is about to secure ‘a unanimous regional and international consensus’ on peace and stability in the region, a senior peace emissary said Thursday.
Deputy head of the High Peace Council (HPC), Atta-ur-Rahman Saleem, told a consultative gathering here that the government had presented a globally acceptable peace offer to the Taliban.
He believed no excuse had left with any group to continue fighting after the government’s peace offer.  Saleem claimed the government was about reach the conclusion it needed after the historic peace offer.
“On national, local and international levels we are very close to securing a conclusion,” he claimed.
He asked the Taliban to get maximum advantage of the opportunity offered by the government.
Scholars present at the gathering slammed the government for not paying attention to their problems. (Pajhwok)
