Pak Speaker Calls for Joint Front Against Terror

KABUL - Pakistan's National Assembly speaker on Wednesday condoled with her Afghan counterpart the assassination of former president Prof. Burhanuddin Rabbani.
Dr. Fehmida Mirza, in a letter addressed to Wolesi Jirga Speaker Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi, conveyed deepest condolences of the people and Parliament of Pakistan, the Pakistan embassy in Kabul said.

She praised Prof. Rabbani's services for peace in the region, calling his assassination a loss for Afghans and Pakistanis. She also extended her sympathies and condolences to Wolesi Jirga members.

Mirza underlined the need for jointly addressing the menace of terrorism, a common challenge to the neighbors. She assured Ibrahimi of continued support for achieving peace and good neighborly relations.
