Work on 60m Afs Projects  Begins in Kandahar

KANDAHAR - Three construction projects costing 60 million afghanis were launched on Wednesday in Dand district of southern Kandahar province, an official said.
Works on the three projects were inaugurated by deputy governor Abdul HananMunib along with a number of sectoral directors and local leaders.
The schemes include a road’s construction, a retaining wall and repair of schools, Munib told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the first project was asphalting a 6.5-kilometer road form Haji Baba Zirat to Mansur Ghundi locality of the district.
The road project would cost 41. 9 million afs to be paid by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD), according to the deputy governor, who added the construction works would be completed within nine months.
He said the second project was constructing a 500-meter retaining wall along Trang Rod at a cost of 13 million afs and the 3rd project was repairing buildings of ten schools at cost a of six million afs. which would be provided by the US forces.
Munib further said that the provincial administration kept in mind uniform development across the province and public satisfaction while implementing projectsd.
Abdu Jabbar, a resident, said Dand was a populated district where a lot of work in education, healthcare and agriculture sectors was direly needed.
Work on a retaining wall, a 21 million afs project, in the same district has been underway. The project is funded by the Rural Rehabilitation Ministry. (Pajhwok)
