Pakistan Fires 10 Missiles into Kunar: Wahidi

ASADABAD - Despite protests from Afghan authorities, 10 missiles were fired from Pakistan into eastern Kunar province on Monday, the governor claimed.
The cross-border attack on Dangam district caused no casualties, said Syed Fazlullah Wahidi, who asked the neighboring country to halt the incursions immediately.

He added at least 600 missiles fired from Pakistan's soil had landed in Kunar and Nuristan provinces since Wednesday. One civilian was killed and hundreds of families were displaced as a result of the cross-border shelling.

Also on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul summoned the Pakistan ambassador to Afghanistan over the recent artillery.

Separately, the Ministry of Defense said Pakistani should realize that Afghan soldiers, fully supported by the people, had the ability to give a befitting response to such attacks.
