Presence of Taliban Leaders in Pakistan a Proven Fact: CEO

Presence of Taliban Leaders in Pakistan a Proven Fact: CEO

KABUL - The government on Monday said the presence of Taliban leaders outside Afghanistan was a patent reality known to the entire world.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah, addressing a cabinet meeting, said there was no need for explanations on whether Taliban leaders lived in Afghanistan or abroad.
The existence of terrorist bases and presence of the Taliban leaders outside Afghanistan wan an undeniable fact, he said, adding there was unanimity among security organs and people on it.
Afghans were aware and careful on such issues and statements against facts would damage the credibility of those who raised such matters, he said.
Two days back, Hezb-i-Mahaz Millie leader Sayed Hamid Gilani told a gathering: “We no longer accept rumours that the Taliban leaders are living somewhere else,
“They (the government) say it because of their weakness and because they cannot do anything else. Most of Taliban leaders are inside the country,” he claimed.
On the other hand, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said that statements made on January 6 were irresponsible and baseless.
In a statement, the intelligence service said the presence of Taliban leaders in Afghanistan had been proven wrong.
Accurate information showed Taliban leaders lived across the Durand Line in Pakistan’s big cities and they organised attacks against the Afghan government and people from there, the NDS alleged. (Pajhwok)
