Govt Prepares for  Peace Meeting  as Violence Rages on

KABUL - Kabul Process expected to resume in February to focus on aspects of Afghanistan's counter-terrorism strategy and the peace process.
Amid ambiguity in the resumption of peace negotiation talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban, Afghan officials on Tuesday reported that Kabul is preparing to host the second round of peace talks in February.
Known as the Kabul Process, representatives from thirty countries and international organizations are expected to attend the meeting where they will focus on the different aspects of Afghanistan's counter-terrorism strategy and the peace process
"The Afghan government is undertaking the necessary arrangements and consultations in this respect. we hope that this meeting is held in Afghanistan in a very successful manner," said CEO spokesman Mujiburrahman Rahimi.
Afghan defense ministry officials have said that the elimination of terrorists and the cutting of aid to the terror groups in the region are making two important aspects of the new counter-terrorism policy.
"A security commission has been established under the chairmanship of deputy minister of interior on security affairs of the ministry of interior. the commission has taken all necessary preparations to ensure the security of this meeting," said MoI spokesman Najib Danish.
"Supports to terrorists must stop, the terrorists must be eliminated, the entire world needs to stay alongside Afghanistan," said defense ministry spokesman Dawlat Waziri.

The first round of Kabul Process peace conference was held in Afghanistan's capital last June in which delegations from 28 countries and international organization expressed their views on the Afghan talks. (Tolonews)
