Turkish Team Pledges Equipment for Hospitals

KABUL - A Turkish delegation on Saturday pledged modern equipment for the Ataturk and Aliabad hospitals, the Ministry of Public health said. Led by Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ, the team visited different parts of Aliabad Hospital, promising that the Turkish government would also reconstruct its sanatorium.
The delegation also held a meeting with Public Health Minister Dr. Suraya Dalil. The delegation head said they would provide modern equipment to the two hospitals.

The idea behind the visit was to participate in funeral of former President Prof. Burhanuddin Rabbani, but the team also reiterated long-term support for the government in the field of health.

The Ministry of Public Health hopes by receiving modern equipment, the problems of Afghans would be resolved and they would not have to take their patients to other countries.

Dalil thanked the Turkish team for its support, particularly in the field of health. Pointing to the robust ties between the two nations, she asked the delegation for further assistance in the health sector.
The acting minister also asked the visiting team to provide scholarships for Afghan doctors.
