Abdullah Stresses Eradication  of Pakistan Safe Havens

KABUL - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah says the objective creating an environment of trust with Pakistan is to battle terrorism and eradicate terrorist safe havens in that country.
Abdullah expressed the view during a meeting with Pakistani parliamentarians, civil society activists and media representatives here on Sunday, a statement from his office said.
Normalisation of ties, expansion of trade, building up mutual confidence and resolution of issues between the two countries were discussed at the meeting, the statement added.
The CEO said relation between the two countries should be strengthened and bilateral issues resolved through dialogue and in line with the principles of good neighbourliness.
Abdullah said Afghanistan had always desired cordial relation with all neighbouring countries, including Pakistan. Bilateral ties should be based on mutual respect, he remarked.
The CEO noted the spirit of cooperation between the peoples of both countries, suggesting the goodwill should be utilised for improving relation between the two countries.

 He reiterated the purpose of efforts at creating an environment of trust with Pakistan was to fight against the scourge of terrorism and eradicate terrorist safe havens across the border. (Pajhwok)
