Kabul, NATO Discuss Preparations for Key Event

KABUL – Deputy foreign minister and NATO’s special civilian representative have discussed Heart of Asia (HoA) Istanbul Process, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said Thursday.
The statement received by Pajhwok Afghan News, said both sides talked about preparations for the upcoming ministerial meeting of HoA Istanbul Process.
The meeting is expected to hold in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan on November 30. The Afghan president would also attend the meeting.
Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Cooperation Mrs. Adela Raz said that the Istanbul Process was suitable platform for regional economic and security cooperation.
NATO’s Special Civilian Representative to Afghanistan Dr. Cornelius Zimmermann said that the military alliance had goodwill for Afghanistan and assured NATO would continue its comprehensive cooperation with Afghans.
Besides military support, NAOT is also committed to help Afghanistan in other areas such as politics and economy as well, he concluded.
Referring to the cooperation of NATO with Afghanistan, Adela Raz considered stability in Afghanistan as stability in the region and asked for further cooperation and coordination of European, neighboring and regional countries. (Pajhwok)
