Awareness about Peace Should Begin from Schools: Rula

KABUL - First Lady Rula Ghani on Wednesday said creating awareness about peace should start from schools, universities and government departments.
Rula expressed these views during a meeting with female teachers at the Presidential Palace today, a statement from the Palace said.
About teachers’ role in training their students, Ghani said women had the natural capacity of mediation and they could benefit from their capacity in enlightening people’s minds.
Women, particularly teachers, should not remain silent in discharging their responsibilities towards peace, she said.
Pointing to women’s role for peace in family environment, Ghani said women should be brave and resolve domestic problems with logical dialogues.
She also stressed prevention of underage marriages, saying marriages in younger ages created problems for girls to continue their education or play role in the society.
The statement said female teachers, who attended the meeting with Rula Ghani, also exchanged their views about social peace.
The first lady assured teachers of considering their suggestions.
Ibrahim Shinwari, acting education minister, who also attended the meeting, said his ministry would be supportive in implementation of teachers’ recommendations. (Pajhwok)
