NEW YORK - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev speaking at the UN General Assembly said his country supports the U.S. President's call on the neighboring countries of Afghanistan to assist the peaceful regulation of the conflict in this country.
"We welcome the call of the Administration of the U.S. President Donald Trump to contribute to peaceful process of regulation of the Afghan issues," he noted.
The head of state said that the negotiations should be held at the presence of the Afghan people on the territory of Afghanistan and under the auspices of the UN.
"The Afghan people have right to determine its fate," Mirziyoyev said.
The President noted that Uzbekistan will further contribute to the development of Afghanistan, in particular, modernization of the transport and energy infrastructure and staff training. (AKI)
