Death Toll Rises to 36 in Kabul Suicide Bombing: Source

KABUL - A source confirmed to TOLOnews that at least 36 civilians were killed in an early morning suicide attack in PD3 of Kabul city.
At least 36 civilians were killed in a suicide bombing in PD3 in Kabul city early Monday, a source confirmed to TOLOnews.
In addition to those killed, over 40 others were wounded.
The blast took place at about 6:45am local time after a suicide car bomber targeted a bus carrying employees of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum.
Three vehicles and 15 shops were also damaged in the attack, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
The victims have been taken to a nearby hospital in the city.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum also confirmed that a number of its employees were wounded in the blast.
The blast happened in an area where Mohammad Mohaqiq, second deputy for CEO Abdullah Abdullah house is also located over there.
President Ashraf Ghani has strongly condemned the “terrorist attack on a civilian bus in Kabul, calling it appalling and a cowardly attack on civilians.”
CEO Abdullah Abdullah has also “condemned the terrorist attack on civil servants in Kabul today” added “our security institutions will hold perpetrators accountable.”
Taliban has accepted responsibility for the bombing. (Tolonews)
