Trump Reviews Afghan Policy with Veterans

WASHINGTON - The US President Donald Trump Tuesday reviewed the Afghan policy with four Afghan war veterans as he told reporters that he wants to hear from them the situation on the ground.
“(These soldiers have) spent a lot of time in Afghanistan and (I am) going to be talking to you about Afghanistan. What you think, your views, these are people on the ground, know it probably better than everybody, I think you know it pretty well right? We’re going to be getting some of your views,” Trump said.
Trump was joined by his National Security Advisors, Lt Gen H R McMaster and the Vice President Mike Pence at the Roosevelt Room luncheon with four military guests: First Sergeant Michael Wagner, USA, Master Sergeant Zachary Bowman, USA, Master Sergeant Henry Adames, USA, Major Eric Birch, USAF.
“Because we’ve been there, it’s our longest war. We’ve been there, for many years, we’ve been there now close to 17 years. I want to find out why we’ve been there 17 years, how it’s going and what we should do in terms of additional ideas,” said the US President.
“We have plenty of ideas from a lot of people but I want to hear it from people on the ground. So this is actually a very important luncheon and it’s a great honor to have you with us and look forward to the discussion,” Trump said. (Pajhwok)
