Trade Activities through Torgondai Rail Truck Soon: President

KABUL - President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has said Afghanistan would be soon connected to Europe thought Torgondai-Turkmenistan railroad, a statement from Presidential Palace said on Friday.
The president said Afghanistan connectivity with Europe through Central Asia would help the trade good reach the Europe in seven-day, he was addressing businessmen from Kandahar province late on Thursday.
The president said amount $75 investment has been made in Kandahar industrial park during the past two years and mostly closed factories reopened during this period.
Kandahar businessmen said more investment would be made in the industrial sector if the required electricity was ensured to the industrial sector.
The president thanked the businessmen for investing in Kandahar for the sake of Afghanistan development and its people.
He asked the concerned officials to allocated land for investors in Helmand and assessment for the new industrial park in Kandahar should be carried out promptly.
The president said he was monitoring the power supply project to Kandahr himself and not delay in the regard would be acceptable.
Ghani said more electricity from Kajaki Dam would be produced, work on solar power generation was also underway and more electricity would be imported from Turkmenistan. (Pajhwok)
