Embassy Attack will Not Stop US Efforts in Kabul: Clinton

Washington - US Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, said the coordinated Taliban attacks on the US embassy and other targets in Kabul on Tuesday would not harm American efforts in Afghanistan.
'We will be vigilant but we will be continuing with an even greater commitment to give the Afghan people, who have suffered so much, a chance at a better future for themselves and their children,' she told reporters in Washington.

Clinton noted that several Afghan civilians had been injured in the attacks, and said the US would do all it could to assist them. There were no reports of any embassy employees being injured or killed.

'We will take all necessary steps not only to ensure the safety of our people but to secure the area and make sure those who perpetrated this attack are dealt with,' she said. (DPA)
