A Dozen  Fighters Killed, Weapons Seized

KABUL - A dozen insurgents were killed during separate operations by Afghan forces over the past 24 hours in deferent parts of the country, the interior ministry said on Sunday.
Backed by coalition troops, the forces detained another 22 fighters in Laghman, Baghlan, Kandahar, Logar, Paktika, Helmand and Paktia provinces.

A statement from the ministry said three militants were wounded in the operations that led to the seizure of nine AK-47 rifles, one rocket launcher, 16 weapons, two hand grenades, one pistol, two vehicles, one motorbike, two machine guns and as many walkie-talkies.

Police found 82-mm artillery shells in the Khwaja Ghar village of Deh Sabz district in Kabul and detained three men for selling equipment that belonged to coalition forces in the Baba Qachqar market of the capital.
