6 Ministers-Designates may  be Named by March End

KABUL - New ministers-designate for finance, agriculture, foreign affairs, boarder and tribal affairs, mines and petroleum and parliamentary affairs are expected to be introduced to the lower house by the end of March.
A well-placed source confided to Pajhwok Afghan News Nargis Nehan had been picked as mines and petroleum minister, Ghulam Jilani Popal as finance minister and Suleman Kakar as agriculture minister.
Eklil Hakimi, by the same token, will be nominated as foreign minister, Ghulam Nabi Farahi as boarder and tribal affairs minister and Farooq Wardak as parliamentary affairs minister.
One of the probable ministers-designate told Pajhwok they might be introduced to the Wolesi Jirga for a trust vote till the end of March. But the parliamentary affairs minister does not require a trust vote from the lower house.
Nargis Nehan, currently serving as a civil society leader, said she had also heard about the possible nominations, which are yet to be officially announced.
Speaker Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi said the president would soon introduce ministers-designate. He added the house would summon security top brass next week to on the situation in the country.
Last year, the lower house had disqualified some ministers after they failed to spend their development budgets. The government, however, took the case to the Supreme Court, whose decision is still pending.(Pajhwok)
