Ahadi, Khar Discuss Transit Trade Accord

KABUL - Afghan commerce and industries minister on Tuesday met with Pakistani foreign minister in Islamabad and discussed with her issues concerning bilateral trade ties and economic development.

Anwar-ul-Haq Ahadi and Hina Rabbani Khar discussed issues of mutual interest, a press statement issued from Pakistani embassy in Kabul said on Tuesday.

The two leaders also conferred on the practical aspects of the implementation of the transit agreement between Kabul and Islamabad, the statement informed.

The Afghan delegation, including high officials and businessmen, led by Ahadi arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday, where they are expected to meet Pakistani Commerce Minister Abdul Hafiz Shiekh.

Inked between Afghanistan and Pakistan few months back, the revised transit trade accord is yet to be fully enforced. Afghan traders have been faced with numerous problems due to the non-implementation of the landmark agreement.
