KABUL - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah has said blaming Afghanistan for sponsoring terrorists in order to divert minds is not helpful and there is a need for sincere cooperation against terrorism.
Abdullah was addressing participants of a ceremony marking the 22nd death anniversary of Abdul Ali Mazari in Kabul on Friday.
The CEO said Mazari possessed a special place in people’s hearts and he left the legacy of patience, sincerity, social justice, uniform development and national unity.
On March 12, 1995, the Taliban arrested Shaheed Abdul Ali Mazari in Chaharsyab district south of Kabul and executed him the following day and his body was found in southern Ghazni province.
Abdullah said terrorism was a regional and international issue and Afghanistan was a real victim of the menace. He said terrorists gave no value to national interest and benefits and their only goal was terrorizing people to impose to impose their will on them.
The CEO Afghanistan had never supported a terrorist group and would never do so.  He said those killing innocent people and spreading terror in the name of Islam were in fact the enemies of Islam and humanity.
He said Afghanistan had offered huge sacrifices in the war against terrorism and wanted sincere regional cooperation against the menace and Kabul was ready for such cooperation. (Pajhwok)
