KABUL - In a telephonic conversation with Pakistan’s Army Chief of Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, President Ashraf Ghani said that terrorists who planned the recently deadly bombings in Kabul are moving around freely in Pakistani and that Afghanistan was committed to hit back at them at an appropriate time.
However, a presidential palace press release states that Bajwa assured Ghani that past mistakes would not be repeated by Pakistan.
Quoting Bajwa on twitter, a Pakistani army spokesman said that Bajwa told Ghani that all militant hideouts and training camps have been eliminated in Pakistan and now it is the up to Afghans to take action against the terrorists on its soil.
“Perpetrators who planned the attack are living in Pakistan and they conduct their activities there freely and no action so far had been taken against them. The government of Afghanistan is firmly committed to avenge those who perpetrated the attacks,” the press release reads.
But, Pakistani military has told Ghani that all terror hideouts have been eliminated in Pakistan and now it Afghanistan must act against terrorists on Afghan territory.
"All safe havens of terrorists have been eliminated from Pakistan," Bajwa was quoted as saying.
Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations chief Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor tweeted the statement, which read that the army chief "pressed upon Afghanistan to cooperate in stopping the to and fro movement of terrorists from across the border".
“Until now the Afghan president and the government think that without reaching a conclusion with Pakistan, peace will not come to Afghanistan, they are still trying to hide the secrets they have,” said MP Abdul Wali Niazi.
“Pakistan’s denial will not change anything on the ground, all those countries who are involved in Afghanistan know that Pakistan is the center of terrorists and terror being exported from Pakistan; there is a need for more pressure to be put on Pakistan in order to convince it to stop meddling in Afghan affairs,” said political analyst Saleh Mohammad Saljoqi.
Pakistan has always been blamed for harboring the Taliban group who is waging war against the government in Kabul.
Recently U.S President Barack Obama also confirmed that terrorists who are operating in the Pakistani tribal belts are posing serious threats to the U.S’s security. (Tolonews)
