Frigid Kabul-Islamabad Ties Worry Sherpao

PESHAWAR - A senior Pakistani politician has called for normalisation of relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan for the sake of lasting peace in the region.
Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) head Aftab Khan Sherpao, addressing gathering in Dara Adamkhel area on Friday, expressed concern at the frigid in relations between Kabul and Islamabad.
He alleged the enemies of Pakistan wanted to isolate the country in the region. However, he hoped Pakistan and Afghanistan would join hands to meet common challenges.
Sherpao promised his party would continue to work for strengthening cooperation between the neighbours and defending the rights of Pakhtuns.
He asked the central government to give rights to the smaller federating units to cement the federation. “The Pakhtuns should be given control of the natural resources in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.” (Pajhwok)
