KABUL - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah has urged regional countries to support Kabul’s recommendations for lasting peace and stability, his office said on Tuesday.
Abdullah expressed the view during a meeting with Tadamichi Yamamoto, special representative of the United Nations for Afghanistan. He said peace and stability in Afghanistan would pave the way for regional economic activities.
Afghanistan’s economic, political and security situation was discussed during the meeting and recent achievements of the unity government highly appreciated.
Introduction of reforms, the appointment of new commissioners and preparations for parliamentary elections also figured at the meeting, a statement from Abdullah’s office said. (Pajhwok)
