KABUL - CEO Abdullah Abdullah on Friday said at a ceremony, at the Baqir-ul-Ulom mosque in Kabul, for the victims of Monday's deadly bombing at the same mosque that insurgents are trying to start a religious war in the country.
Monday's bombing, claimed by Daesh, killed over 40 people and wounded more than 80 others.
Addressing mourners present, Abdullah said the Afghan people are aware of insurgents' plans but they cannot deceive the people.
"Afghan people are aware of such plans and are united," he said.
"We have shared enemies and shared friends. Today people from every ethnic group has come here and this shows we are united," said Mohammad Mohaqeq, second deputy of the CEO.
In this ceremony, security departments were criticized for failing to maintain security.
"It is obvious that our security departments are weak. In such bombing attacks and on the battlefields in the provinces they are weak," said Karim Khalili, former second vice president of former president Hamid Karzai.
Israil, a 10-year-old child, who was wounded in the attack, works on the streets selling plastic. He had gone to the mosque for a meal. A number of his relatives were killed in the bombing.
"I had come here to eat food. Suddenly I heard a loud voice and then I did know what happened," Israil said. (Tolonews)
