KABUL - NATO’s assistant secretary general for operations Patrick Turner during a meeting with President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday praised the Afghan security forces’ gains in the campaign against terrorist groups.
National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar was also present at the meeting that conferred on various issues particularly security, counterterrorism efforts and regional situation, a statement from the Presidential Palace said.
President Ghani thanked NATO for continuously supporting Afghanistan in diverse fields particularly security and defence.
NATO’s assistant secretary general for operations Patrick Turner praised the Afghan security forces’ achievements on the battlefield as unparalleled and said the Afghan forces had been successful due to their organized plans.
He assured President Ghani of NATO’s continued cooperation with Afghanistan. Ghani also paid tribute to the national forces in recognition of their patriotism, commitment, achievements and suppressing the enemy. (Pajhwok)
