KABUL - The Presidential Palace after concluding interviews with shortlisted candidates has selected commissioners on the two electoral bodies, a statement said on Thursday.
The statement from the Presidential Palace said interviewing members-designate for the election bodies --- Independent Election Commission (IEC) and Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) -- began on November 14 and ended on Wednesday.
It said the interviews took place in presence of President Ashraf Ghani, Second Vice-President Sarwar Danish, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Attorney General Farid Hamidi, a Supreme Court member and head of the Independent Commission for Overseeing the Implementation of Constitution (ICOIC).
The Presidential Palace said a final list of the new commissioners on the IEC and the IECC would be announced soon.
The Selection Committee had introduced shortlisted candidates for the positions to the president. (Pajhwok)
