Congressmen Stress More US-Afghan Cooperation

KABUL - A Congress delegation, which called on President Ghani at the Presidential Palace here on Tuesday, stressed further enhanced cooperation between the US and Afghanistan.
A statement from the palace said President Ghani stressed regional and international cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
The US Congress delegation was led by Senator Jack Reed.  Both the sides conferred on US cooperation with Afghanistan in different sectors, including the fight against terrorism. The meeting also discussed the regional situation. 
The statement said the president appreciated US continued assistance and support with Afghanistan in the civil and military fields.
Threats posed by terrorism and regional insecurity also came up for discussion, it said, adding that international and regional cooperation and support was stressed against terrorism.   At the end, the delegation emphasized further support for Afghanistan. (Pajhwok)
