Some Circles Trying to Provoke Ethnic Division: Abdullah

KABUL - CEO Abdullah Abdullah on Monday said at the Council of Ministers meeting that some circles are trying to provoke ethnic division in the country "which would be for the benefit of the enemies."
"Unfortunately while our security forces are making sacrifices on the battles fields for the country there are some circles who are trying to provoke ethnic issues which will have an impact on the situation of the country," Abdullah said.
However, Abdullah did not provide more details about the issues but said that "there is no difference between the citizens of our country."
He also urged government organizations to address the issue of displaced people from
Recently, thousands of families were displaced from Kunduz after Taliban insurgents increased their attacks in different parts of the province especially in Kunduz city. As a result thousands of families fled to other provinces including Balkh, Takhar, Badakhshan and Kabul.
Abdullah believes that Brussels summit was "a great success for the Afghan people" in which Afghanistan once again gained support of the international community.
Early October, the international donors pledged $15.2 billion USD to help keep Afghanistan's beleaguered government afloat for the next four years, despite growing reluctance to pour more money into a corruption-plagued country wracked by conflict.
The Afghan government is estimated to only be capable of meeting 20 percent of its budget, and about 39 percent of the Afghan population lives on less than $1.35 a day.
Abdullah said that the government also pledged to the international community it would fight corruption and work for good governance and spend the money transparently.
On refugees, he said that the government has discussed the issue with Iran and Pakistan and that there is coordination among them for the return of the refugees to the country. (Tolonews)
