KABUL - First Lady Rula Bibi Gul Ganiwill be among a galaxy of speakers at an international event to be held in Sharjah, a media report said on Sunday.
The two-day ‘Investing in the Future’ conference, scheduled to start on October 19, will feature women leaders from different countries, The Gulf News said.
Rula will be among the elite speakers, who will share their inspiring experiences and success stories in the field of women’s advocacy and empowerment.
UK Secretary of State for International Development Priti Patel, Pakistan’s former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Kharand journalist Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will also speak on the occasion.
The event has been organised by The Big Heart Foundation, a Sharjah-based humanitarian organisation, and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.
According to the newspaper, this year’s conference is being held under the theme ‘Building the Resilience of Women and Girls in the Arab Region’.
Importance of women’s inclusion in the economic development process and their needs for education, training, employment and access to resources will be in focus.
