KABUL - A number of critics on Sunday slammed the Ministry of Defense (MoD) for what they called poor war management, arguing that because of this parts of the country are collapsing to insurgents.
They said they believe that the situation will worsen if government does not take the issue seriously.
"The lack of a war management strategy in Kunduz, corruption in public offices and among the security agencies' leadership have created these problems," said Mirdad Nijrabi, head of internal security commission of the Wolesi Jirga (Lower House of Parliament).
"This problem is mostly the outcome of government's policies and management and the other issue is the interference of foreigners," said military commentator Jawed Kohistani.
"When the enemy captures an area, it means that you are weak and you were not ready to suppress the enemy," said military commentator Atiqullah Amarkhail.
Meanwhile, the Defense Ministry assured the people that they would continue to establish a healthy war management system.
"According to its commitments made to the international community, Afghanistan continues to support and prepare its forces against terrorists," said MoD spokesman Dawlat Waziri.
Analysts said they believe that casualties among the security force members will rise if the issue of war management is not sorted out.
This comes amid a sharp increase in Taliban activity and attacks around the country in the past month.
Currently heavy clashes between security forces and insurgents are underway in numerous provinces including Helmand, Kunduz, Baghlan and Farah. (Tolonews)
