Selab Corps Claims Killing 1,891 Rebels in Offensives

JALALABAD - Nearly 1,891 Islamic State (IS) or Daesh rebels and Taliban militants have killed in 68 joint operations of the 201st Selab‘s military corps in different provinces, (ANA) official said on Saturday.
Brig. Gen. Mohammad Ali Shujae, the 201st corps’s deputy commander, told Pajhwok Afghan News the joint operations were conducted during the last seven-month in eastern Nangarhar, Nuristan, Laghman, Kunur, central Panjshir and central Kapisa provinces.
He said the operation were still underway and would share more information with the media in the future.
He added Afghan National Armey (ANA) ground troops, Afghan Air Force (AAF), Afghan Local Police (ALP) and personnel from the National Directorate of security (NDS) had jointly conducted the offensives. Seventy security forces were killed during the month long offensive.
Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said even less than 70 fighters of the group have not been killed and wounded while claimed to inflicting heavy causalities on the security forces side. (Pajhwok)
