Ghani, Abdullah Agree to Resolve Differences on 4 Key Issues

KABUL - President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah on Monday reached agreement on electoral reforms, distribution of electronic ID cards and creating a commission for amendments to the constitution.
Abdullah’s deputy spokesman Ahmad Omaid Maisam told Pajhwok Afghan News the CEO and the president met for a third time on the national unity government’s performance.
The two leaders agreed on four important points, including electoral reforms, distribution of electronic ID cards, creation of a commission to amend the constitution and the appointment of members of the Commission for Overseeing the Implementation of the Political Agreement on the ubitygovernment.
He said more details about the agreement would be shared with the public within a week.On August 11, Dr. Abdullah criticised Ghani’s leadership and said he was obliged to make public his differences with him.
He alleged key pledges like convening a Loya Jirga, amending the Constitution to create the post of prime minister and introduce electoral reforms had not been implemented so far.(Pajhwok)
