Azerbaijan Pledge Support to AAF

KABUL - Azerbaijan has pledged support to the Afghan Air Force and security institutions of the country, seeking long term strategic cooperation between the two countries.
The Office of the National Security Council said the Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev made the commitment during a meeting with the Afghan National Security Adviser Mohammad Hanif Atmar.
A spokesman for the National Security Council Tawab Ghorzang said the Azerbaijan officials have shown readiness to support Afghanistan in fulfilling the needs of the Afghan Air Force by training the young Afghan pilots.
He said the country has also committed to train the Afghan cadets and provide medical care to the Afghan security personnel.
Atmar started trip to Russia and some Central Asian countries nearly a week ago to attract support to the Afghan National Security and Defense Forces.
The trip by Atmar comes as the Afghan security forces are busy in fight against the terrorist groups amid concerns that the terror groups are attempting to expand foothold beyond the Afghan territory into the Central Asian States.
The Afghan government officials are saying the Afghan forces facing the domestic as well as the international terror groups and call on regional countries to support the Afghan forces in their fight against the global terrorism. (Khaama)
