Karzai Insists on Sincere Fight against Terror

KABUL - The former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has insisted on sincere fight against terrorism as the Pakistani authorities have extended an invitation to Karzai to visit the country.
The Office of the Former President in a statement said the Pakistani Ambassador to Afghanistan Abrar Hussain met with Karzai and delivered the formal letter of Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to him.
The statement further added that Karzai thanked Nawaz for his friendly letter and invitation to visit Pakistan.
Karzai thanked the Pakistani leadership for hosting the Afghan refugees and emphasized that terrorism is a joint thraet both to Afghanistan and Pakistan and a sincere mutual campaign is needed to eradicate the menace of terror from the region.
He promised to visit the country in an appropriate time and hoped that his visit would lead to the eradication of terrorism and violence from the region as well as well peace and stability in Afghanistan.
This comes as the Afghan officials have long been criticizing Pakistan for remaining reckless to take actions against the anti-government armed militant groups based in the country.
President Ghani asked Pakistan last week to take actions against the leadership of Taliban group in Peshawar and Quetta cities, warning that Afghanistan will take the issue to international organizations including UN Security Council if no actions were taken in this regard. (KP)
