Ready to Fight Alongside Afghan Forces: Muslimyar

KABUL - Meshrano Jirga chairman, Fazl Hadi Muslimyar, on Sunday asked the government to intensify operations against militants who were not willing to take the path of peace.
“Those who want peace, we are willing to have peace with them, but people who are fighting against security forces, we support our forces against them,” Muslimyar told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Taliban have recently launched their spring offensive named after the group’s founder and long-time supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar, who reportedly died in 2013.
However, a delegation of the Gulbadin Hekmatyar-led Hezb-i-Islami Afghanistan has been in Kabul holding peace talks with the government.
Expressing concern over recent insecurity in the country’s north, Muslimyar said it was government’s responsibility to send more security forces to areas under threat from insurgents.
“We not only verbally support our security forces, but we will fight alongside them in case of need against the enemies who create fear among our people to promote the interests of foreign intelligence agencies,” he said.
He asked security forces to make peace with those who wanted peace in Afghanistan and defeat those hell-bent on fighting for the interest of outsiders.
Senator Nadar Baloch said the Afghan security forces needed unwavering political support and the support of government leaders and ordinary people. (Pajhwok)
