KABUL - The chairman of the Afghanistan Independent Election Commission (AIEC), Ahmad Yousuf Nuristani on Saturday resigned from his position, an official said.
The deputy presidential spokesman, Syed Zafar Hashimi told Pajhwok Afghan News that Nuristani’s resignation was accepted by President Ashraf Ghani.
Nuristani has been heading the independent electoral body since Aug. 03, 2013. (Pajhwok)
