Mojaddedi Calls on Taliban to Renounce Violence, Join Peace

KABUL - Sebghatullah Mojaddedi, leader of the National Liberation Front of Afghanistan, called on the Taliban on Friday to renounce violence and join the peace process.
"Follow the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) stop killing innocent Afghans. Select peace over terrorism and join the peace process," said Mojaddedi to militants.
He stressed that Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is supporting terrorism in Afghanistan. He said Islamabad can force the Taliban leaders to come to the negotiation table.
"All Afghans know that Pakistan's ISI is training and supporting terrorists. Recently a high ranking Pakistani official confessed that the Taliban leaders and their families are living in Pakistan and he admitted that Pakistan can force the Taliban to talk peace," Mojaddedi added.
He denounced civilian killings in terrorist attacks and stressed the need for the fight against those who are orchestrating such attacks.
These comments come at a time that former president Hamid Karzai on Friday slammed Pakistan's cross Durand Line rocket attacks.
He strongly denounced Pakistan's rocket attacks on Dangam district of eastern Kunar province.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Kunar provincial council, Ahmad Ali, said the rocket attacks are aimed at putting pressure on Afghanistan to recognize Durand Line as an international frontier. (Tolonews)
