KABUL - After attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, President Ashraf Ghani returned home on Saturday, the Presidential Palace said.
On the sidelines of the WEF on its second day, Ghani met US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and his spouse Melinda Gates.
The president also met International Monitory Fund (IMF) Chief Executive Officer Christine Lagarde and top officials of Google, a statement from the Palace said.
Ghani discussed the economic development of Afghanistan, peace and stability, support for Afghan security and defence forces and joint anti-terrorism efforts with his interlocutors.
Besides attending the forum, the president also participated in the meeting “The global security outlook”. Carter and the NATO chief also attended the event. (Pajhwok)
